Acciaierie d'Italia is an Italian steel manufacturer headquartered in Taranto that produces primary and secondary steel using integrated cycles to serve mechanical, construction, food packaging, and infrastructure sectors. Founded as part of a strategic plan approved by the government in 1948, the company inaugurated its massive facility on April 10, 1965, becoming Europe's largest steelworks at that time under the vision of engineer Oscar Sinigaglia.
